These Wood Snowmen make festive ornaments and door hangers, and kids love to personalize them with their choice of ribbons, hat colors, or even their names.
Materials You’ll Need for Wood Snowmen
- Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Black and White Paint
- Hot Glue
- Assorted Ribbon
- Googly eyes
- Orange Foam
- Sharpie Marker
This is where we use our wood craft supplies. Each snowman requires seven jumbo craft sticks. Five for the head, one for the hat brim, and one for the back, to hold the whole thing together. Lay five craft sticks side by side, all touching, and break or cut the sixth stick in half. Put hot glue on both of the cut pieces, then lay those across the five sticks, pressing firmly. This holds all five sticks together.
Paint the top third of the joined sticks black and the bottom two-thirds white. Paint the remaining craft stick black. There’s no need for an expert in wood craft supplies. Hot glue a ribbon across the bottom of the painted black area of the five sticks. Then, glue the single, black stick right below the ribbon (touching it) to complete the hat.
Next, you add the googly eyes, an orange foam nose, and use a black Sharpie marker to draw a mouth. Easy! The final step is to glue a ribbon onto the back for a hanger. You can use a shorter one for an ornament or a longer one for a door hanger.
